Vendor Partnership
Terms & Overview
White-label lease programme · Non-exclusive · All MOPA fiber laser vendors welcome
This document outlines the key terms of the MOPA Color Studio vendor partnership programme. It is intended as a starting point for conversation — all terms are negotiable and final arrangements are agreed directly with Jason Mills. Nothing in this document constitutes a binding agreement.
MOPA Color Studio is a browser-based software platform — delivered as a single HTML file — that automatically maps any image to a complete set of MOPA fiber laser parameters for full-colour metal marking. It then exports a ready-to-run LightBurn project with vector geometry on every layer.
29 colours — automatically classified from any input image, each mapped to frequency, pulse width, power, speed, line gap, and passes
5 materials — Stainless 304, Titanium Gr.5, Aluminum 6061, Copper, Brass — with more in development
3 vector trace methods — Pixel Runs, Block Merge, Contour Trace — each producing native SVG vector geometry for LightBurn
Complete LightBurn export — .lbrn project file, per-colour SVGs, colour reference image, step-by-step import guide
Persistent preset system — operator-tuned parameters autosave and carry forward to every future job
No installation required — runs entirely in any modern browser, no cloud, no accounts, no dependencies
Non-exclusive
The licence granted to each vendor is non-exclusive. MOPA Color Studio may be licensed to multiple vendors simultaneously. Each vendor operates under their own brand, so there is no direct conflict on their website or in their customer base.
White-label
The software is fully rebrandable. Your name, logo, colour scheme, and contact details replace all original branding throughout the application and every exported document. Your customers see your product.
Lease-based
The arrangement is a lease, not a purchase. Lease terms — duration, payment schedule, and renewal conditions — are negotiated directly. This keeps your upfront cost low and ensures you receive ongoing updates throughout the lease period.
Updates included
All software updates — new materials, new features, improvements to existing functionality — are delivered to your branded version at no additional cost during the lease term.
All commercial terms are negotiated directly. The following areas are open to discussion:
Lease fee and payment schedule — monthly, quarterly, or annual arrangements are all possible depending on your preference and volume
Lease duration — initial term length and renewal options are agreed per vendor
Branding scope — extent of rebrand, custom colour schemes, co-branding options where preferred
Support arrangement — level of technical support, response times, and escalation paths during the lease
Distribution method — bundled with machine sales, listed as a standalone product, offered as a premium add-on, or all three
No standard pricing. Lease fees are not published. Every arrangement is tailored to the vendor's business, customer base, and intended use of the platform. Contact Jason Mills directly to begin the conversation.
Ownership remains with Jason Mills. The licence grants you the right to use and distribute the software under your brand — it does not transfer ownership of the underlying technology, code, or intellectual property.
No resale or sublicensing. Vendors may not resell, sublicense, or transfer their licence to a third party.
No reverse engineering. The software may not be decompiled, reverse-engineered, or used as a basis for competing products.
Non-exclusive only. Exclusive territorial or market licences are not available at this time.
Initial conversation
Contact Jason Mills to discuss your business and how the platform fits your offering. A walkthrough of the software can be arranged at this stage.
Terms agreed
Lease fee, duration, and distribution method are agreed. A written licence agreement is prepared and signed by both parties.
Rebrand delivered
Your branding specifications are applied — logo, name, colour scheme, contact details. A branded version of the software is delivered for your review and approval.
Go live
The branded file is published to your website, bundled with machine sales, or distributed however you've agreed. Typically less than two weeks from agreement to live.
Ongoing updates
As updates are released, your branded version is refreshed and delivered. You do not need to manage version control — we handle it.
Can I offer it to my customers for free?
Yes. You can bundle it with machine purchases, offer it as a free download on your website, or charge for it separately — how you monetise it with your customers is entirely your decision.
Will other vendors have the same product?
The licence is non-exclusive — other vendors may carry the software. However, each version is uniquely branded to that vendor, so your customers see your product, not a generic tool or a competitor's name.
Does it work with any MOPA laser?
Yes. The software produces LightBurn project files and parameter sets that work with any MOPA fiber laser. It is not tied to any specific machine brand or wattage.
What if my customers need support?
Support arrangements are agreed as part of the lease terms. Options range from documentation-only through to direct email support for your customers. The software includes a built-in Help guide and full LightBurn import documentation.
Is there a trial period?
A fully functional demo can be arranged before any agreement is signed. We want you to be confident in the product before committing.
What happens at the end of the lease?
Renewal options are built into the lease agreement. If the lease ends without renewal, distribution rights revert to Jason Mills and the vendor ceases distributing the software.
Remember
MOPA Color Studio is the only software of its kind in the world. No competitor product exists that automatically maps image colours to MOPA laser parameters and exports a ready-to-run LightBurn project. Early vendor partners establish a meaningful and durable competitive advantage in their market before this window closes.
